This is a portrait study focusing on light and colour, and my first serious attempt at painting something more "realistic", straying away from my usual illustration style. It was interesting learning about the different forms of the face under this particular lighting, and I learned a lot by re-introducing myself to the rule of "drawing what I can see not what I know". Although this exercise focused less on style and more on accuracy, I realised that as long as I have shown my understanding of the face, whatever I decide to add on top could enhance the overall aesthetic of the image.
